Vintage was forced to close for a second time this winter season due to snow. We apologize for any problems this may have caused but feel free to contact us via email and members of our staff can respond from home.
This decision came as we learned that non-emergency city offices were closed and road conditions made unsafe to drive.

We would like to apologize for having to close our office on 12/27/2010 but with New York getting hit with the fifth worst storm in the City’s history, we thought it would be safer for our staff to keep the office closed for the day. We are in the hopes that the City will have the roads cleared by 12/28/2010 so that we may resume business as usual, although we may still have a limited staff. The Common Council for the City of Peekskill has adopted the collection of a 1% Transfer Tax on all deeds delivered on or after December 1st, 2010. The City of Peekskill does no have a provision for the grandfathering of contracts, but have stated that Tax Law Section 1206 provides that “such taxes shall not apply if the contract for any such conveyance was mad prior to September 1st, 2007″.

Richmond County has joined the other four boroughs by putting recorded documents online. No they did not use ACRIS for this but their own online system that can be found here: http://www.richmondcountyclerk.com/
You will need to create another log in account with them since the one you may have to create cover pages will not work. Aside from these few issues the site is basically straight forward to use and they state that the records go back to 12/1/1945. You have the ability to search by Block and Lot, Document #, Book and Page, and lastly Party Name. We at Vintage are wondering how far is it before they setup an E-tax creation site. We will keep you informed of any updates or changes.
Nassau County announced that they are increasing their Block fees from $10.00 to $75.00. This change goes into effect on December 1st, 2010. Vintage is forced to increase its recording fees in this county to match this change. If you have any questions, please give us a call or send us a message and we will be glad to assist with this change.
Starting September 1st, 2010 Vintage Abstract and it’s Underwriters will be required to collect sales tax on certain Information Services on all transactions. While it is still unclear what services are taxable, Vintage is still preparing for this change.

Vintage Abstract is now offering online access to our clients. As of right now you can access and retrieve Instant Fee Sheets which enables the customer to show their client precise closing costs, providing no major changes take place before the closing.
